My laptop, which is an Acer Aspire ES1-512, all of a sudden has a white line going down the left side of the screen, i can still see everything coming up on the screen, just wanted to know if their is a fix for it?

If you could connect your laptop to another monitor to see if it is cast to the other screen to see if it's the igpu. If it doesn't cast the same white line to the other monitor it is most likely that the screen is going out or that you have to replace the ribbon cable. Just do some googling and I'm sure you'd fine a solution.

Or maybe a row of dead pixels, it's happened to me before right down the middle, but replacing the laptop screen worked for me and was relatively cheap direct from the manufacturer. There's a few things that could cause this so try anything you can find before deciding to replace the screen or anything.
