You'll notice a huge difference buying an SSD. It also means you can keep your existing hard drive for data.

Assuming you do gaming, I'd upgrade your graphics card to a GTX 1060 / 1070. They'll probably drop a little bit in price by Christmas also.

Everything else looks alright for now.

Christmas is still 5 months away. Wait until then to post a topic. Hardware changes and so do prices.

Alright thanks for the heads up will post again near Christmas time. Do you think there's a chance the 1070 will drop on Black Friday this year?

Do you mean price or the actual card? The 1070 is already out.

If you mean a drop in price, there is a high chance the price will drop during the Black Friday sales.

Yeah sorry I meant the drop in price.

Also one quick question while you're here if I was to go ahead and buy the 1070 will the rest of my build work ok with it as well as my current case? Or should I upgrade it. I was looking at getting this Case [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Yes, the 1070 will work fine with your other components and case.

If you want that case, it would be fine; however, I think the [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] or [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] look better.

Those are both significantly lower quality.

OP- Enthoo EVOLV ATX is one of the nicest cases on the market, I've been wanting one myself since before they released but the price is just too high IMO. An Enthoo Pro or something would be nice. Your current case is meh, it's fine, but I'd be upgrading it. Enthoo Pro, Define R5/Define S, or an H440, something like that would be a nice upgrade in size and quality, as well as some nicer/better features.

CPU and motherboard are fine. Maybe add another 8GB RAM if you feel like it, but 8GB is fine.

Definitely add a nice CPU cooler to OC that 4670k, and add an SSD. I would also upgrade that PSU since the VS550 is low quality. The GTX 660 is still fine for non demanding games or playing at low-med at 1080p with AAA titles, but I'd be upgrading that to something like a GTX 1060/RX 480. Or, something higher end if you want to go 1440p/4k.

Although, since you're not buying for another 5 months or more, this could change drastically, so come back then.

Do i *HAVE* to upgrade the PSU before i buy the 1070? I only planned to upgrade the ram and graphics card this year then early next year the case, PSU and maybe a ssd.

It should be fine for a new GPU, like a GTX 1060 or 1070. They're not going to be pulling as much as 550W anyway. You should definitely upgrade the PSU at some point, but you can get new GPU and what not first. I maybe wouldn't get RAM as one of the first upgrades, since 8GB will be fine. I'd say go with the SSD and GPU first, then add a cooler for CPU, and then you can add another 8GB RAM and upgrade PSU. That's how I'd go about it anyway.
