I'm not sure if I'm the only one thinking about this but after catching the starter, I caught myself starring at the games map and didn't want to walk outside in fear of all the data that would be swallowed up while getting to caught up in the game. So now I have a question, would it be possible that someone could make a tweak or something for jailbroken phones that would allow us to move around while not using data, kinda like an offline mode but the game doesn't know it? Not asking if anyone can do it, but for those with knowledge of developing and what not in cydia does that seem like a realistic idea?
At first I couldn't open the game because (as I've read) the app recognizes if your device is jailbroken and won't open after loading, but then I read to install an app/tweak called tsprotector 8+ and blacklist Pokemon Go so it can't access the system for that info and it worked. So this is what got me wondering about the possibility of a tweak to allow us to not use data... And if that's a no-go would there be any other way or is this destined to nuke our phone bill

For me it doesn't use that much data, I probably drove around my area for 10min and used like 5mb of data.
I too am jailbroken on iOS 9.0.2 and had to use that trick for my app to work. Thank god ;)

If you are worried about data I believe you can download Google Maps from the App Store and search into Maps your town/city and download the area, that way you can see the area you are in without having to use data loading it.
