What Has Happened?
A 19 tonne lorry has struck a crowd during Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice, with reports of many dead. An exchange of gunfire followed after the initial incident and saw the suspect shot dead by over 5 French Police Officers.
It's understood that the vehicle travelled along the walkway for around 2km, striking hundreds of civilians watching the fireworks.
Firearms and small explosives were found in the lorry, suggesting motive for a further assault should the suspect have not been killed.

Father-Doug wrote What a strange way to commit a terrorist act. Also im not sure if it is on this post but i read that after the lorry hit people the driver got out and opened fire.Quite smart in a way, everyone expects explosions and shoot-outs. Taking a lorry of that size at high speed into a very large crowd would be very effective unfortunately.
I have seen reports of that and included a little bit but i won't add too much just incase it turns out false!

Im watching the live report and this guy has a point. shouldn't there have been police cars or road blocks blocking the way? Its a wonder it even made it that far to a big public event, especially with the terror attacks that have already happened in France

What a prick.
I wish I had some wise insight which would make some sense of this but there is nothing else to say.
