I just replaced my laptop HDD with a 480gb Sandisk ultra 2 SSD. it is supposed to get around 550 read and write but im only getting around 270 read and write. Im sure the 550 is a bit exaggerated but i think it should be faster than 270. I downloaded the sandisk ssd tool to see if i had to update the firmware on the ssd and i didn't have to. any ideas? Please help.

Sounds like your laptop uses SATA 2 which limits you to 3Gb/s as opposed to 6Gb/s with SATA 3. Displayed speeds are only achievable with SATA 3 and you probably would get close to claimed with SATA 3.
