When I go to my profile and then click 'customise profile' the gamertag option is grayed out and I'm not able to click on it but I am able to edit everything else such as bio and location

Anyone know why?

It's part of the preview member updates. I'm also having the same issue. It's only temporary though so don't worry. If you would like to change your gamertag atm then the only way is through Xbox.com
