My mom and stepdad own their own business, which is definitely good for money. My dad and stepmom both work a lot, but have good jobs.

I never grew up worrying about money or anything, if I wanted something I usually got it. Right now I am 18, I turn 19 in 3 days, and I do have a job, working at one of the pizza shops my mom and stepdad own.

Growing up with money doesn't mean you don't know how to work for it, and I know that someone here is going to say something like, "Oh, well, you work at your mom's own business, so that doesn't really count." Well, I worked at McDonalds for two years before she let me work there, so trust me. I know what it's like working somewhere like McDonalds, it sucks.

I buy pretty much everything I have now, with the exception of my car, which was a graduation gift.

Kids who grow up with rich parents dont seem to truly understand the value of the dollar and to me dont seem to understand independence.

Very true but its a common stereotype, I know some rich kids who aren't like that, I suppose when you have it from birth its all you know so it wouldnt be anything to them

agreed

I think a lot of us look at Johnny over there who's parents are set and bought him a new BMW and think "damn, I want to be him". One thing I learned about rich kids (not all) is that they just have a severe lack of respect for others and think because their parents make a lot of money the rules don't apply to them. I wasn't raised with a silver spoon in my mouth, I was raised with a wooden spoon across my ass and I wouldn't change it. Even though the rich kids have cool stuff, I feel they are a step behind because often times they didn't work for it or learn anything.

That's an excuse not to get one lol. You can mow lawns etc. You can even put in blind applications, you never know who will hire you.
