I say whichever one you have more friends on or play more.

Personally I go with Xbox.

Whatever has the exclusives you like and the console you have more friends on. I would go with Xbox but if you have more friends on PS4 go with it. You still have both consoles you can play on.

i used to have both but i choose to sell my ps4 because ive been a xbox fan since the 360, i suggest get the same console as your friends they not really that different tbh

Well for most cases it depends on what you want to do with it... First yuh child take into consideration which console your friends have because that truly does make a hungr difference in the online experience. Second if it's strictly just gaming the PS4 could be a better choice if more friends have it but if you are into movies and multi media xb1 has a lot to offer with a nice interface. You should also look at console exclusive games and see which ones look the most appealing to your playing style. But for me I chose Xbox one
