I heard somewhere that after we die, our brain (or whatevers left of it, depending how we go) is active for about 7 minutes. In that 7 minutes, we relive our entire life, second for second, in fast forward sort of like when youre dreaming it feels like hours or days but when you wake up only a few milliseconds have passed. So, whos to say were not dead right now and just reliving our life? Does anyone else think this is possible?

I don't quite understand how someone could have an 'opinion' - in the general sense of the word - on something like this.

When it comes to science, specifically neuroscience, you either know something, have evidence to suggest that something is true but not enough to constitute a fact, or you don't know.

As far as I'm aware, there is evidence for this - mainly in the form of DMT-like substances being released by the brain during death which could potentially slow perception of time and induce hallucinations - but not enough to prove that someone relives their entire life during this time.

The specificity of '7 minutes' has always annoyed me when it comes to this topic.
Everyone should know that when it comes to biological processes things become completely subjective.

Edit: I guess XeGlitch just showed me how you can have an opinion on something like this.

This is really stupid. Yes like Obscurum the brain does release dmt like substances during death or near death. However there is simply no possible way to know what each person is experiencing nor how long it actually last. It is likely just a mechanism to deal with immense pain/organ failure/dread etc. If you know your gonna die chances are you are gonna be freaking out.

Its probably just like a dmt trip or a heroic lsd dosage. Completely disconnected from reality to ease yourself. It is quite an interesting evolutionary trait since it doesn't really do anything to help. I don't know much about it but I wonder if it is just a more intense form of like an adrenaline release.

I think were all alive and when we die i do believe that the brain is active for a little while longer until it shuts down. I think that we all go into eternal rest

Or maybe when we die, that 7 minutes is us in heaven and to us, it's infinitely expanding, but to everyone else, we're just gone.

You never know lol
