Yeah, I feel this way as well. I want to post around the site but I cant. Nothing we can do as a community we can solve this. This site is dead time to time. As Ugly has said "the modding scene is dead" I totally agree with you.

Yeah, i forgot everyone i met on here back in the day. It was fun though. Wish i could remember more but i don't think most of them even get on anymore. The MW2 craze/ gamertag modding is what brought a majority of people in. But when those stopped i think a lot of people stopped coming in. Some people might have just stopped gaming in general resulting in not getting on here anymore. summer must also have some effect on it.

People are out and about for the summer months. I expect that there will be a rise of members once the summer ends.

Lol these excuses just make it even worse. If anything TTG should be bigger during the summertime.

Sundown wrote said this before and here im saying it again

ttg will be just as active or more active once there are public xbox one exploits

Also, this site is not dead. Not even close. If you look at the other sites that were similar to TTG back in the 'golden days' of modding, all those sites are actually dead.

Exactly TTG pretty much blew up off of the whole modding scene with the older cods and games. But after modding started dying out and with new rules put in place the site got really dead.

And as you said once the exploit happens I'm sure it will be populated heavy again. Maybe with it being summer also it don't help out with everybody being out and doing stuff, during the fall and winter months I hope to see more users come back and get on here more often.

I think it will pick up again one day once something big happens with modding again!

See the problem we have here is, people are too busy comparing the site back to its golden days. Just with anything, there are times where things will be at a low and times where it will be at a high.

Lately, a lot of people are complaining about how this site isn't what it used to be, is it? No.

But you see, this site is no longer dedicated to modding, why is that? Because modding is dying out which is a known fact and the only way this site is going to have a future is if it slowly branches away from the modding scene allowing time for it to transform into something new. The only way this can happen though is with a strong community with members who are prepared to stick with it and help the site grow.

Now mate, without sounding like a dick, you're a couple years old on this site with 250 years, why does this matter? Well I'm going to assume you're not active and you're returning to the site with old expectations. The site is new, it's fresh, it's hit a stage in its life where its transforming. How do I compare this? Puberty.

Basically all I'm saying is, the more you compare it to the modding days, the worst it gets. TheTechGame is not TheTechModding. It may have been formed and grew because of modding, but yes it's moving on slowly.

Sorry for this long ass reply, I'm really drunk so my grammar may be off but eh, who cares. Just felt I needed to let out my opinion on this rant.

The Call of Duty (Modern Warfare 1&2, WAW, Black Ops) generation has ended unfortunately, the players who played those games back then, including myself have pretty much moved on from long gaming sessions and literally play every so often just for a bit of fun rather than taking things seriously and looking to rank up quickly. With that generation having passed it also means those players, who used to play in groups of friends from school, college etc.. will have all grown up further and probably parted ways, taking a bit of fun out of it all.

With the new consoles and new games, their added security and anti-cheat methods it makes the modding/hacking side of things a bit soft and not really worth the effort.

There was nothing better than staying up late at the weekend after a week of school, with your mates playing CoD, in a party, all just talking crap to other players and joking around and then those who stayed up the latest would be on here looking for the Modded Lobbies and that, those were the days and it is sad that those days have passed, a lot of great memories.

The site now, it's still active but nothing compared to back then, it's just full of random stuff and there doesn't seem to be a general interest on here anymore, back then everyone was playing Call of Duty and looking for lobbies, everyone had that in common. Now, there's very little that the gaming world has to offer which has everyone on here talking. The amount of pointless and stupid topics on here these days is ridiculous and on most topics, if not all, you will always get people post responses which don't actually add a single thing to the discussion, it'll just be something short and in aim or raising their post count like 'That sucks, why does this happen'.. Fair enough it's within the requirements to be posted but come on, what's the point in bothering if the replies are useless and offer absolutely nothing.

Half of the active users are full of crap and just BS everything about themselves, lil keyboard warriors.

The Off-Topic Discussion forum is basically a spawn for pointless discussion about pointless and stupid questions but it's gotten to the point where it's been that way for so long that it might as well be re-named 'The Q&A Forum'
