I am looking into buying a PS4 solely for the purpose of playing No Man's Sky, which comes out tomorrow. I was looking into it and apparently it wasn't a good idea buying a 1TB ps4 because those models use older hardware than 500GB models. Is this still the case?

Personally, I would go with the 1TB cause it can hold more games to play instead of uninstalling one to play another one constantly. And in my opinion a 1tb console would be better in the long run.

I'm sure they have 1tb consoles that have new hardware. Even if it doesn't I'm sure it would run just fine, plus you'll have twice as much memory which is nice.

I don't think all the 1tb consoles use older hardware, just buy a new console and you should be fine!

I would go for 1tb, that may seem like a lot but it runs out quickly.

I have 6tb of storage on my PC, had it for a year and nearly half of it is gone.

Go for the 1TB console, 500GB won't last long being as most games are 30/40GB.

Just picked one up from SimplyGames (in UK so if you're from UK order there) yesterday and it's arriving later today and they've informed me the 1TB new era one from them atleast are CUH-1200 models so no reason it should be different for you but I'd checked with the retailer.

no its better it has buttons then again all the new versions of the ps4 has buttons not touch panels now and asking if one is worst then the other 1tb is alot better then 500 cause of how many games 500 can hold and 1tb can hold so any playstation is good

Two things you can do.
1. Buy an internal hard drive instead of a whole new PS4.
2. Keep your system because no mans sky is like 5 GB
