So I just got my AS level result and it wasn't what I expected, 1C & 2D's. Kinda bummed. Didn't expect a C in maths or a D in physics. My subjects are Maths,Physics ,and Chemistry.

I'm now planning to take a gap year so my question now is that can I continue with my A levels and give the A2 exam in May/June 2017 and the then study through the 2017 summer and improve my AS level grades in Oct/Nov session or do I have to improve my AS level grades first before I give my A2 exam or they wouldn't count otherwise?

Because I want to get into a good university for engineering, most probably electrical or chemical. So I'm just preparing to give SAT 1 this winter session and will prepare for SAT 2 in the gap year if it's possible to improve my AS grades after finishing A levels.

+Rep for any helpful advice or input.

I recommend resitting your AS levels before continuing to do your A levels or do them while studying your A levels (resit dates tend to be January). To be honest I don't think you can Redo AS levels after getting your A level results but don't quote me on that haha. It wouldn't really seem practical in my opinion to work on your AS levels afterwards. Do you study at a school or college? You can try to see if you can resit your year.
