MOBO - I chose the Asus Z170-A for its 1151 socket and DDR4 support. I have this mobo personally and haven't experienced any problems with it.
CPU - I chose the I5 6600k for it's cheap price and 1151 socket to support your mobo. If you plan to do rendering/editing/encoding feel free to change that to an I7 6700k.
RAM - I chose this RAM to complement the look of the mobo, as well for its 3000mhz speed. Overclocking the RAM to this speed with the mobo I chose is no problem at all.
OS - I stuck with Windows 10 since that is what you had previously(I was assuming you'd need a new copy).
Tbh, your build is pretty good already. I'd keep everything except for the things I changed.
If you have anymore questions or want to know further why I chose a specific part, feel free to PM me :-)

I definitely agree with the motherboard and ram. If you really want to upgrade. Get the motherboard, some FAST DDR4 ram, then pick up a second 980 ti. I just upgraded to a second one and I have zero regrets. 80+ fps on ultra for any game. Especially with that 4k monitor I think you should get a second one. The prices have gone down so much you can probably get one for $350-$400.

Firstly, your link isn't working. You need to post the permalink on PCPP, not the URL. Your link just sends us to our own parts lists.
Regardless, your suggestion is horrible. You're suggesting that he downgrade his system. The 4790k is better than the 6600k, no question about it. Going from his current 4790k, to a 6600k would literally be a downgrade. There is no logical CPU upgrade for OP, unless he wants to go enthusiast grade with X99. His current motherboard is better than the Z170-A IMO. It's a completely different socket and chipset, but the Gaming 7 was a higher end boards than the Z170-A currently is. Also, 3000MHz RAM is pointless. It will give OP no noticeable benefit and it's typically significantly more expensive.

To be honest, your system doesn't look like it needs any upgrades. I'd save your money for another year or two and wait to see what else comes out. Maybe get some more peripherals like matching monitors, a new keyboard(bc who doesn't like new keyboards?). Something that will make your setup look nice and orderly.
I'm no PC guru but like I said, it doesn't look like you're in dire need of any major upgrades.

Nothing really. Maybe MOAR SSD because why not? Other than that, only logical upgrade I can see is a higher end, better quality case. The S340 is great but it's undoubtedly a budget case and falls short in a few area's IMO. Then again, case swaps can be a total hassle, so it's understandable if you'd rather avoid that.

To be honest there is really no upgrades you can get unless you wanna upgrade your GPU to a 1080.
I would look for a new case but that is about it.
