I have the founders addition of the 1070 and i play at 1080p. I bought it over the 1060 because i wanted to be able to really crank up detail and add mods to any game. I also got it to kind of future proof as much as possible for 1080p.

I can't tell if you're joking... 1080p is the current, and 1440p is already here and kinda the new 1080p...4K is slowly replacing both of them.
1080p isn't hard to game at, my 970 could do that. There is no need to "Future proof for 1080p" when a 9 series gpu already blows it out of the water. your 1070 is good future proof for 1440p or even low settings 4k.
