I support people using guns like hunting who doesn't like to hunt. It's fun!
It's when people abuse having a gun is when that needs to stop.

I support gun ownership, no matter if someone is good or bad or has a license or not anyone can get their hands on a illegal or legal gun, so taking them away from the people who use them for hunting food and clothes or even those who use them for a responsible pass time or self defense should be able to have one if they please

If you are mentally competent enough and taught how to handle and store a firearm safely then I have no problems with people having them.
It's just too bad that many, if not the majority of, people aren't mentally competent enough or taught how to handle and store them safely.

Nope, live in a country with no guns and I have absoloutley no need or desire to make them legal.

The only reason you'd need a gun is to protect yourself against others with guns.

I don't plan on challenging US for the highest homicide rate in the Western World either.

Here in America most people are able to handle & store them safely, however it's the small percentage ruining it for everyone.

I guess that depends on how we define 'safely.'

Looking specifically at storage:

Of the homes with children and firearms, 55% were reported to have 1 or more firearms in an unlocked place, and 43% reported keeping guns without a trigger lock in an unlocked place.

In July 2004, the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Department of Education published a study examining 37 school shootings from 1974-2000. That study found that in more than 65% of the cases, the attacker got the gun from his or her own home or that of a relative.

A 1999 study found that more than 75% of the guns used in youth suicide attempts and unintentional injuries were stored in the residence of the victim, a relative, or a friend.

I don't think the number of people storing their guns inappropriately is as high as some people say but it's definitely not as low as some people would like it to be.

I support guns 100% and I own a few firearms myself. Served in the US Army for 4 years and have seen the bad sides of the world (and a lot of good ones) but having a family I'd love to be able to protect means a lot to me and if it ever came down to it I would rather have a gun than not

I personally don't own a gun but would love to get one in the near future.

On the contrary, living in a country of very low crime/gun rate owning a gun for self defense is a very weak argument. If i lived in the US i would however if its controlled then that argument would be completely invalid.
