On the contrary, living in a country of very low crime/gun rate owning a gun for self defense is a very weak argument. If i lived in the US i would however if its controlled then that argument would be completely invalid.

Crime rate can't be a factor in the argument, a country with the lowest crime rate still has crime and with crime comes the possibility of it happening to you. If you were faced with the option to not have a gun and to have a gun, if your family was in the picture would you like to not have that option?

I support guns because they protect you against governments, which have murdered more innocent people than any criminal or group.

I kind of have to support it considering in is in the Constitution. In a general sense, I hate guns. Since guns are here, I'm not totally against people owing them. I just highly question it when they can be capable of holding 10, 20, 30+ rounds. Just seems like a bad idea.

I support it 100%.
I do not personally own one.(Living in NJ its less likely to have the permit or license to own one).
My family out in Tennessee has quite a few.
Owning a gun nowadays can keep you and your family much more protected.

I agree with this, people can always modify the weapon but they deffinantly shouldnt be sold with high magazine capacities

Bhoy wrote The only reason you'd need a gun is to protect yourself against others with guns.

Ok, say someone kidnaps you and is going to rape you and slit your throat? Man don't you wish you were concealed carrying right about now? Get out of here with that "logic".

I bought my rifle with a 30 rd mag. I haven't done anything bad with it. It's not the tool, it's the operator.

I support gun ownership, and I do own guns.

I believe no gun laws should exist same with drug laws stop restricting people's freedom and start taking self responsibility. Btw an federal assault weapons ban will never happen so stop trying lmao

Anyway, in all seriousness it sounds like people are having an issue with high capacity mags. I will say that I completely agree that there is no reason anyone has for owning, however I also don't see a reason not to own one.

I'm sure the thoughts of "oh these mass murderers use high capacity mags", and yes that is completely true. I believe California (someone correct me if I'm wrong) has made it so mags can only have a max of 10 rounds. It takes me less than a second to drop an empty mag out of an AR-15 and put a new one in. Granted this is in perfect conditions and trying to get it under a second with multiple attempts lol. Max it would take 3 seconds to dump an empty mag and put a new one in.

Furthermore, a magazine (in general guns like AK-47's and AR-15's) are plastic or metal boxes with a spring in them. I'm no gunsmith or professional by any means, but I don't see where it'd be so hard to cut out the bottom, weld on a couple inches of sheet metal and put a bigger spring in the mag. Then again mass murderers generally aren't too smare so I guess that argument is mute.
