I'm a university student and also a retail manager for one of the big supermarkets in the UK. I definitely enjoy my job and managing a department whilst at University.

Im only 16, and its not a like full time career or anything like that.
But, my parents own their own business. We go to foreclosed home all around the state and do some fixer-upper stuff to them to make them livable again. We had a huge flood last year and we went out and did over 1,000 F.E.M.A Inspections and rebuilt and fixed over 400 homes.
Most of the times now though its like grungy homes that need grass cuts, tree removals, roofing, plumbing, electrical stuff, Mold removal, stuff like that.
My family was very poor before the business and made around $25,000 a year supporting us and now they make around $400,000 because of it.
Its intense manual labor and the hour can be crazy but the pay is super worth it. For my age my parents pay me and my buddy $400-600 each week or two for the work we put in. Last weekend we had the worst shift ever with my parents, we worked from 9am-3am fixing a home because the family had to be placed back into their home by that day.

The reason why? For freedom. I am not materialistic, but there is just something euphoric about making an average working man's monthly pay check before breakfast, each and every single day.
Teach me your ways master!
I will be your student
