I live in Northern Ireland and one was seen in my capital city. "Belfast".

Funny tbh.

It is in no way funny, it is wasting police time due to them having to investigate it. Anyone who finds it funny is an idiot. Wasting Police time, by acting like an absolute moron in public and harassing random people is pathetic these people need to get a life.

I'm of two minds about this whole thing.

I think that the people dressing up as clowns need to find new forms of entertainment.
Finding it fun to scare people sounds like a very base form of sadism, maybe even masochism given how stupid they look.
There are far more worthwhile methods to satisfy those needs. All this seems to suggest is that they aren't good looking enough for people to want to engage in those methods with them.

At the same time I find it incredible that people are actually calling the police when they see one of these people.
If you are chased or assaulted by one of them then yes, call the police, but if they are standing there doing nothing then you really have nothing to be afraid of.
Have movies and TV shows so degraded the mental capabilities of people to recognize real threats that anyone in a clown outfit is now deemed so scary that the police need to be involved?

The people calling the police about these harmless clowns are wasting police time more than the clowns themselves.

People calling the police, aren't wasting time more than the people dressing as clowns. As there wouldn't be anyone calling the Police if there were no people dressed as clowns, and at night time and clowns harassing you the first thing you would do is call the police as they could potentially be muggers, rapists or murderers and the random people these clowns are harassing have no clue if they're any of those three. So no, it is not the public who is wasting police time it is solely the clowns.

I'm pretty sure that I clearly said, "If you are chased or assaulted by one of them then yes, call the police."
But no, just because someone has the potential to be a murderer doesn't mean you should call the police.
Any person standing on a street corner at 2am could be a mugger.
Really, the fact that they are wearing a clown outfit probably makes them less likely to try to mug you. They tend to stand out from the massive crowds of people walking around at 2am with their huge red afro's and colorful facepaint.

I know there's lot of clown scare activity going on across the UK currently. Happens most years, never normally anyone hurt. That I've heard anyway.

I've actually spotted one while in Defuniak, Florida.
I wanted to run it over.
But I like my car...

One of my brother's friends got expelled from school for telling the clowns to come to the highschool.
He didn't give a school address or a picture, or even a city/state location and still got expelled. Not suspended for a certain amount of time, expelled for the remainder of the school year.

Anybody involved in any of this is just an absolute idiot. Literally the dumbest thing you could possibly do with your lives.
