Most notable, ive been through Katrina and Wilma, these were both hurricanes that hit the US in the 2005. Im sure most of you have heard of Katrina.

Living in Florida we are experiencing a hurricane at the moment, Hurricane Mathew and its supposed to be pretty bad. I live in Seminole county and atm we are under a curfew. Its raining lightly but tomorrow its supposed to get pretty bad.

Anyway, ive met a few people who said this is the first major storm they will be experiencing. So it got me thinking, how many of you guys have experienced a natural disaster if any at all?

Me too.

On topic I haven't been through any. Maybe the odd snow storm that has happened but those are just common occurrences here these days.

Being from England I was going to say none, but I looked up a list of natural disasters to have hit the UK recently and, depending on how you define natural disaster, it's actually one.

Most of the natural disasters in England involve flooding, so you know quite clearly when you have been affected by one, but in 2003 the UK suffered heavily in the 'European Heatwave.'
It was the hottest recorded summer in Europe since 1540 and over 2000 people died in the UK as a result of it.

Like I said though - it depends on how you define a natural disaster.
I figured this was more interesting than just saying "None."

I was kind of in Katrina. We got hit with some of the hard rains and winds from it. Trees went down. Power was out in a lot of areas for a week or so.

I've been through a few horrible snow storms that have dumped over a foot and a half in a 24 hour period. You lose power for a week plus and in the winter with no heat your house drops below 40 and you have to wear like 8 socks multiple layers of sweatpants and jeans long sleeve shirts hoodies hats and gloves. Not to mention no toilet or shower for a week.

Been through Katrina and Tropical Storm Lee, Minor damages in katrina, during tropical storm lee my family lost our entire house. Here is a video my mother made after.

Just rewatched this video and bawled. Such a hard thing losing so much stuff and having no control over it. All thoughts and prayers are with Hurricane Matthew victims.

When I was small still living in Poland. It was summer i was around 6 or 7 can't remember. We had thunderstorms form time to time nothing special. One day as any other day was super hot outside so of course i want outside playing. Thre was a thunderstorm coming so i went home. The storm was getting closer and closer. It started raining, 15 minutes later the clouds got even darker and i knew that shouldn't happen because i never seen such dark clouds in my life. It almost look liked it was a night time. The winds got 6 times more stronger, rain was 3 times faster dropping and lightings were in the skies every 3 seconds. It was like that for 20 minutes. I was shitting myself pretty bad as i said i never seen quite like it. When it stopped around 10 cars in my neighborhood were up side down and most of the trees were ripped off a part.

It was the strongest storm in 20 years or something like that.
