Hi TTG, long time no see.
Was browsing online the other day looking for a laptop that'll be used for various college coursework, web browsing, some photo manipulation ect ect... I don't really want to be spending too much, around the £350 mark (not USD). I plan to allocate some other money towards an SSD that'll replace the stock drive. It also doesn't need a OS since I'll probably just bung Debian on there. So if any knows of any diamonds in the rough, please let me know.

save up some money and buy a PC, what you can get in a laptop is a joke compared to pc parts, most laptops are limited on what upgrades you can do, and you will be needing to upgrade in the upcoming future and with a pc that is all possible, but on a laptop you need to spend extra and possible have a shop do it for you, i recorded spending about 600 quid on a half decent pc and upgrade as you need, this will also be cheaper and there are a variety of brands to choose from at different performance levels to suit your needs, also a pc can be built around a certain needs such as gaming or editing where a laptops are mostly built around general work, and you have to spend alot to get a decent spec one, i would also suggest building the pc yourself you could save up to 100 - 150 in parts, if you have an old family pc knocking about then there is nothing stopping you from upgrading that for even less!!

Haha, probably should have mentioned I've got my own rig.

The reason, as stated before, is that I need a laptop for college.
