i do gaming and fantasy hockey on my channel. fantasy hockey i am really confident with but gaming is hard! right now i'm playing Forza horizon 3 and call of duty. but ill be playing titles coming out this year. i am not someone who likes to talk and play video games so lets plays are just not good for me. i am also not really sure how to stay entertaining. i was thinking about tell life stories but then how do i accommodate people who want game play? i was thinking doing videos covering game news/updates or tip videos. but everyone does them so id feel like i am just ripping off bigger channels. what do you think of my ideas and what else to you think i can talk about in my videos? i have gotten compliments that my voice is good for YouTube so its a huge confidence boost!

check out what i have done so far?

Doing YouTube is a passion, it isn't just about other people, you have to enjoy what you do. If you make videos you like, and it is good content, views will come. Make videos you want, just make sure they are high quality. If you aren't going to talk over your videos, make sure to have some music in there, make good edits. Some high quality stuff.

I personally wouldn't do it. When I watch gameplay videos, commentaries, etc.. I find it more interesting when the user talks about the actual gameplay and not something that's not related to the video. That's just my opinion though

Real world events might get s little more attention but a lot of negative feedback. Do what makes you happy. Play what makes you happy.

Agree with this.

OP do what YOU want and what YOU enjoy. Not what others like. If are just doing what others are telling you, then you're not going to enjoy making videos at all.

i get that so maybe ill do 50/50? and talk about the gameplay in form of a live commentary or? i cant see how you'd talk about game play after you've recorded it

Doesn't hurt to try! Go ahead and try it out if you see that you're enjoying it and you're getting good feedback continue it. If it's the total opposite then think about changing things up a bit
