I wouldn't say dead as it is still pretty popular, but losing popularity for sure.

Rock music is in no way dead. Foo Fighters, Alice in Chains, Megadeth, Opeth, RHCP, theres hundreds of good rock/metal bands to listen to. Just last week I saw Ghost B.C. in Portland, next week I'm seeing opeth. If you want good music you have to seek it out. Don't just go by whats popular.

It's not the same as it used to be but it isn't dead. & yeah I agree that it's hard to listen to songs that were created in the past couple years as some are just flat out terrible and it's astonishing that they can be classified as "good music", although there is some really good new songs that have been produced in the past few years as well.

You seem like one of those "**** mainstream" people "real music" exists you just have to look for it or change your mindset. Although a lot of pop music is bad, pop isn't a bad genre. Do you realise "today's generations music is bad" is the most common opinion I have heard on music

Hate to be that guy but yeah modern rock music (although it still thrives) it's slowed down a lot.

Rap to our generation is rock to the past generations. Honestly in sub genre's and the mainstream of rap you can find artists who remind you of rockstars. I.E XXXTENTACION,Travis Scott,Kid Cudi and kanye etc

Kanye is obviously "that guy" but due to his public image his music is overlooked.
Albums like My Beautiful Dark Twisted fantasy holds so much energy it reminds you of a rock album.

Also due to Rock not being as widely popular as it used to be it's a lot harder to find new bands, I recommend buying rock magazines etc or using rock based websites, you just have to put a lot more effort in to searching for new rock music to listen too. You've listed the most popular rock bands so it doesn't seem like you have a lot of knowledge on the genre or perhaps you do but that's just what you like I don't know

I agree though. I personally don't mind just listening to old music. I don't get bored of it due to how many bands there are, there's no way you could have listened to every rock band. Rock is a genre with so many sub genre's it's so varied.
