"guns are made for harming" !? Omg dude...

Guns are made for protecting ourselves and our country. You can go around without any means to protect your life but I am carrying a gun with me.

Also its not comparing apples to shoes, it's comparing the death rates of one thing to another thing

Guns were originally designed to kill.

Yin wrote Not exactly the best argument. Cars are made for transportation. Guns are made to destroy and kill. We also regulate cars way better than guns, so there is also that. At least we try to lower deaths with cars with mandatory safety measures.

Guns are made for sporting and protection. Just because someone uses them to kill somebody, that does not mean that they are made solely to destroy things. And since your uneducated on this topic. We actually regulate guns very strictly. Guns are much more regulated than guns. If you truly what you have said, then please give me an example.

Even in sporting, they are destroying things. They put holes in targets. They destroy clay discs. That is what they are made to do, cause damage. When you protect yourself with one, you are harming another with it usually. That is what they do. That is their purpose. Not saying guns aren't regulated at all. For cars though, there are mandatory airbags, seat belts, headlights, and the other features they have to come with along with how much pollution the cars can create. You also need a license, registration, and insurance to use them. I may have missed where we require guns to be registered, require a license everywhere to be carried in public and require you take out some insurance in case of an accident (like it accidentally going off in public or the possibility of them being stolen and used negatively.) If I am wrong, please teach me.

Yes they may destroy things, but that is not what they are meant to do. You do not need a gun to be registered, there is no reason that anybody should know what guns you do or do not have. If we do not need a license to carry a knife, then why do we need a license to carry a gun? They are both considered weapons, and they can both kill people. There is no insurance needed for a gun. A gun almost never just goes off. And if the gun did go off, then who ever owns the gun would be responsible for what happens. And as for what you said about a gun being stolen and used negatively. It is the gun owners responsibility to keep there guns secured. And insurance is going to do nothing if some ones gun is stolen and used negatively. The same could be done with a car. But guns have background checks, and that is all that they need.

Ok, they are meant to fire projectiles, which those are meant to destroy and/or harm whats in its path. One could argue there is no reason for anyone to know what cars you have either, but there is a reason we have it though. Overall though, cars are regulated in ways guns are not. You need multiple things in order to use an object created for transportation that you don't need for items that are created to do massive damage and easily have the power to kill. I was just stating that cars and guns are made for totally different reasons and are regulated differently. Just looking at how many deaths are caused by each seems like an oversimplification. There is more to them than that, like the economical benefits to society and the world as a whole.

I hate this idea so much. Congratulations, you are now required to take a test on guns. What in the sam hell is going to be on that test? EVERYONE knows how to handle a gun. If you don't, you will within the first 15 seconds of holding it. It's really common sense. This is how you load it, here is where you charge it, this is the safety, and this is the trigger. What more goes into it? Common sense tells us don't point it at things you don't want to shoot. The problem is that such a small percentage (less than a hundredth of a percent) of the US population want to shoot people.

HEY! MONSTER TRUCKS DESTROY THINGS! YOU CRASH A CAR INTO A GAS STATION AND BOOM!< THE WHOLE BLOCK IS ON FIRE! Vehicles can cause damage too but you never hear about it because it happens all the time. You always hear about mass shootings because they are so seldom. You might have two a year and 99% Of the people who commit them have a mental condition which prohibits them from thinking straight. I know cars are for transportation but take a train, A bus, A plane, A Boat. As silly as it really does sound, Cars kill more people then guns

If I had the money to buy a certain gun I would. I would a G18 - Why you may ask? Not sure myself probs to practice my aim & driving on the road is dangerous itself. On the other hand of things, people die from drink driving/drugs. You can only blame them and them only.
