On FIFA 16 my record was like 300-50-100 but this year its 71-15-72 I have no idea what I am meant to do, I started off playing amazing but suddenly it changed and I was awful. The way I've played has not changed now I just can't seem to win or worse than that defend. Any tips that I could use to improve again as I feel like I've just started playing again when its still like the only game I play.

Use an overpowered formation to start with. The best ones at the moment are:
4-1-2-1-2 (2)
4-3-2-1
4-3-3 (4)
4-2-3-1 (2)
Other formations are still good of course but these ones are extremely strong this FIFA since 1 2s and through balls are extremely OP.
Pick a playstyle that you enjoy, for example possession, counter attacking or tiki taka.
Build your team, set instructions and then custom tactics and you should be ready to go.
Personally, I play 4-1-2-1-2 (2) and play tiki taka with lots of (LB) A and through balls. But play whatever you enjoy and suits you.

start with a balanced formation such as 442 or 41212.
find a style that suits you whether that's counter attack or slow patient build up.
apply player instructions on lb/rb stay back while attacking.
play a few games get use to the new engine physics.
then start buying better players and see if that helps. if not keep trying till you get it right.
