With the Astro A40's it comes without a mix amp i want to to use these headsets for the xbox one. Will i need the mixamp to use it and what exactly does the mixamp do for the headset and xbox?

Where are you getting them that it's not coming with a mix amp?
I don't see how you will be able to use the headset on your Xbox with out the mixamp, unless you have another device that lets you do it but then that will technically still be a mixamp.
Best to get the mixamp.

Yea but if you're going to be playing on console I would get the Astros over the HyperX's.
If you do go with Astros, get the Astros A40 TRs, best headset I ever used.
Also if you game or talk on pc you can have the headset hooked up to both platforms at once it's super convenient.

I love my Astros a40's! I did have a hyperx and they tore up on me.
