what happens if i don't go into work on sat, i tried to book a holiday off 7 weeks ago and thought it went ok, so i booked and paid for a alittle break 5 weeks ago, then 3 weeks ago my manager says i cannot have it off cuz she is going on holiday and there can't be anymore than 2 people off (there is another person off aswell),, so i sat and ad a full blown argument with the fat cow, she has rung me up and sed if ya don't come in you will face dispilnary action, and i sed (being abit hot headed cuz she woke me up) i dnt care.
if any1 knows anything about employment law please help and i hope it's in the right section. thank you

do you have any proof that your leave was accepted?
second do you have a rule book for the company?
third is the company a large company with multiple stores or a small mom and pop organization?
Fourth is she the owner or just the manager?
4th How many write up have you had and how long have you been working for them?

Go to the general manager above her head and file a formal complaint against her regarding your schedual. When you file your complaint make sure that you talk to her supervisor.
2nd. If you are clasified as a no call no show then you can be terminated for it.
3rd it is better to make them fire you and make sure you get the vacation book and copy the page stating when your time off was so if they fire you you can draw unemployment from them on their money for them firing you on your day off.
when you talk to her supervisor make sure he understand you have plans you can not cancel and that you will not be able to come in. do not give her a reason to fire you.
Final if she is the new store manager then call her boss or even corperate and file the formal complaint with them. if it is a company like burger king EC.. they have plenty of numbers and ways to contact the corperate office. but if it is a big company they should have a HUMAN RESOURCE department you can also use them to file the complaint. state that she did not verify the holiday book when she made the schedual and that you are being punished for her failure to do her job.
