There isn't that much similar about the two logos though, except they're both a W.

The logo is sans serif and the font he chose is serif.
They should probably match.

Yes I am.
This is because of the complexity of the W.
The way the lines work in this logo make the W more like a Gothic font
Which in my opinion does not go well with serif.
