Let me list the pros and cons for each game since i got both, Just my opinions.

Pros of Overwatch
Playable with and without friends
Quick matches, just in case you gotta go somewhere in a hurry.
Lots of unique characters for every situation, you cant usually use the same character on a different map, it usually have better/worse outcomes
all the dlc's are free.

Cons of Overwatch
No campaign
If you cant stand dying, don't even get it. you will die a lot.
if you find yourself a "above average" gamer and hate bad teammates, you going to find a lot of them.
You cannot. At all. Carry your team. its all about teamwork and when one guy is doing bad, the whole team is doing bad so that's rage inducing.

Pros of Battlefield 1
Great gameplay
Has a campaign, which is very good
Plenty of big maps and replay value.

Cons of battlefield one
Big maps can mean long games ranging from 30-1 hour matches at the least.
Lots of running.(imo not much fighting even on domination game types)
Not a very fun game if you don't have friends to play with, it seems pretty boring when your alone. some people can, i cant.

So pretty much from my experiences you can choose from them

Tl;dr i prefer overwatch to battlefield 1 ,but it isn't a bad game to consider either.

I would personally go with BF1

I have them both and I played BF1 for 1 week straight and was bored got to level 78 and just couldn't play anymore, but with overwatch you have so much stuff to do. They have special events for holidays, you get amazing gameplay and its just a great game.

I would recommend BF1 if you are more of a Play with friends type of game and if you just want to have fun and have quick games get overwatch.

They are both great games, I prefer BF1 though because I'm more use to those type of shooters.

I like both but BF1 is better

Both games are awesome at their place, and has thrilling features which may capture the shooter image in others mind. I would like to suggest you to have both of the games, BF1 is decent, and is great for the first few games, Destiny 2 is addictive as hell and a more enjoyable game. You should go for BF1, well i prefer BF1 to Overwatch.
