This post is directed toward anyone here who is currently pursuing or is already in the professional graphic design field.

First, thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this!

Q1: Did you plan on getting this serious into graphic design?
Q2: Is it your main profession or just a hobby?
Q3: Did you self teach or learn from someone/somewhere?

That's all I have for now, feel free to add me on here as well if you want a new friend

I got questions for you.

* Are you trying to get into professional graphic design/design in general
* How old are you

q1, im a web developer i had the chance to do gfx at my work place but i'd rather develop.
Reason is, it's easier to find consistent long term work and i know exactly what im getting paid for. (and being a dev is more fun for me)

q2, it was just a hobby but normally you turn hobbies into professions, when given a sensible opportunity.

q3, Self taught dev and designer before i went to college, i knew most of the basic stuff, went to college for both IT and Graphic design to get an understanding of things i might of missed, it's not required at all to be good at design, college for graphic design was a waste i quit after the first year and go a job.

No, it isn't my plan or intention to do it professionally. However, I considered building it up as a secondary skill in order to make money while i'm in college. Currently am 18 years old and am a computer engineer major at an engineering school.

Q1: Did you plan on getting this serious into graphic design?
Mhm I wouldn't say I'm super serious about it but I love doing it.

Q2: Is it your main profession or just a hobby?
Mostly a hobby, if some one comes to me for some professional work it depends if I feel like working with them.

Q3: Did you self teach or learn from someone/somewhere?
Mostly self thought or YouTube tutorials and help from friends.

Q1: Very much so, I initially was not sure to start but I knew I wanted to do it for a living in some way or another. I wanted to solely design for web and print, but I never knew how enlightening working in print was until I started.

Q2: It is a hobby and a profession, though working 8-5 designing makes it tough to get off work and keep designing. I work as the lead graphic designer and production manager at a graphics and sign shop. I am in charge of everything from sales, to design, to print, to billing. My wealth of knowledge has increased greatly since I started, it redefined the term "thinkin outside the box"

Q3: Completly self taught besides the classes I took and was a teachers aid for (but I pretty much taught the classes). I have learned a lot hands on from my job but everything design wise is self taught.

I am often contracted by a local marketing agency to make logos and other designs for their clients.

1. Yes, ever since i started designing i wanted to do it professionally, but, on the side. But im not even as far as id like to be.

2. Its mostly just a hobby for now. I do it on the side of my full time job.

3. Im mostly self taught. Ive never taken any kind of design class.
