I had seen XBLPET Golf post "Modified controllers are considered system tampering, which is a violation of the Terms of Use." I couldn't link the post as the links I could find are dead now.

I could however verify with Microsoft support that it is still considered system tampering...

If (for arguments sake) you didn't get console banned from that it could have also been from "Repeated egregious violations of the Microsoft Services Agreement that establish a clear pattern of nefarious activity" via [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] constant acc bans on that console...
