Corsair VS550 ATX/EPS Vs Series 550 W 80 Plus Power Supply Unit

My monitor isn't much of an issue for me as of currently & will upgrade it later on, just looking for the tower for now.

I understand what you mean about this whole Zen release but i'm willing to purchase it now no matter if it will be cheaper in months to come.

On a whole new scale - Would you recommend the : [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] : over my current setup, as I already said I am trying to improve my setup as a whole and not just buff specific components for it to "hold up" slightly better, if you understand what I mean.

Thanks for everything you're doing though, I appreciate it.

I've already answered you;
"Even if you don't buy an AMD CPU, Zen release should cause price drops for Intel chips hopefully so it wouldn't make any sense for you to buy a new CPU right now. RX 480 would be a waste of money since you're using a shitty 1680x1050 resolution monitor. That EVGA PSU is trash."
Also, that's not even an upgrade, it's just a whole new PC. What are you actually trying to do?

If your monitor isn't much of an issue for you, don't upgrade your GPU. There's no need for you to upgrade your CPU right now, and this would be the worst possible time for a CPU upgrade. Since you have a CPU that you can use and have a functioning system, it makes a LOT more sense to continue using that until Zen releases, which could potentially be less than 20 days away. Your current PSU isn't good, but it's better than the EVGA unit in the system you want to 'upgrade' to.

I'm not planning on buying that PC, it was simply a model in which somebody had made for me saying it was probably best for my budget, exactly why I was asking around to see if it was worth a purchase if I was to get it as a whole new PC & scrap the current.

To answer your question, as you've already stated I understand that you believe there's no need for me to upgrade but I feel I want to more than need.

So for a better way of putting it as a whole -

If I was to upgrade my monitor, what would you say in terms of improvements or replacements I would need to make to have any noticeable effects in terms of FPS wise & PC effectiveness as a whole? This being components & monitor-wise.

or

Complete new purchase of a computer with a budget like myself, do you have any recommendations?

If you're running a sub 1080p resolution monitor(which you are), it doesn't make sense to upgrade to new, mid ranged components because you're not going to utilise them. An i3 and GTX 1050Ti would be more than enough for running a 1680x1050 monitor so an i5 and RX 480 system wouldn't make sense for your monitor.

What are you actually using your system for?

So you're saying that all my current specs are fine if I was to upgrade to an i3 + 1050Ti with the current monitor? Would it be good with a new monitor, i3 + 1050Ti?

& If I was to get a better monitor, the build I showed you with slight adjustments would be okay too?

Oh I forgot to mention, my motherboard isn't compatible with Intel CPUs only AMD (coming from pcbuild website thing)

"What are you actually trying to do? "
"What are you actually using your system for?"

If you can tell us what you're actually using your PC for, then we can help you.

Like I said, it's gaming related.

I currently cant do much of it considering my current PC will virtually only run the bareback games such as LoL & Counter strike.

I previously used to do a lot of video editing also, which is non-existent now because my computer fails to process anything when doing so.

What games do you want to play? LoL and CS aren't hard games to run. Your current system will play AAA titles at medium-high settings on your monitor. There's no need for any upgrades at all with your current system. If anything, buy a GPU now for a performance increase, and a nice new monitor. I'd also add an SSD for sure, and upgrade your PSU, but only when you can get a better PSU, not a downgrade to that EVGA unit.

Grab this SSD;

or this;

I'd take the MX300, though the Trion is fine if you want to save some money.

For GPU, you can pick this up;

It will be a huge upgrade from your 750Ti, and will be plenty for your monitor, as well as 1080p gaming. You could go with a 480 instead of the 470 if you want, but I wouldn't buy Gigabyte's 480s. I'd get one of these if I was getting a 480;

You'll still have like £300/350 left, so use however much of that you want for a monitor and then keep the rest and save for a CPU upgrade to Zen or Kaby Lake once Zen releases.

For monitors, these are what I'd be looking at;

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

First one is 1920x1080(1080p) and will be a decent upgrade from your current monitor, but it's about that time where most people are getting away from 1080p because it's peasant grade.
Second monitor is 2560x1080(ultrawide) which is what I'd probably go for tbh. Also, an RX 470 will be able to play at this resolution easily, so if you take that or either of the 480s, you'll be fine.
Third monitor is 2560x1440(1440p) which isn't the best option for you IMO, but it is a good monitor so it wouldn't be a bad thing if you went for this monitor. That being said, if you go 1440p, or any monitor greater than 2560x1080 resolution for that matter, I'd suggest getting the 8GB RX 480 instead of the 4GB 470 or 480.

This is perfect, thank you.

Do you have any suggestions for a PSU upgrade just off of the top of your head if I was to purchase -

470 GPU & the top monitor option considering I prefer a less wide-screen monitor.

& off the top of my head, i'm pretty sure that you have to back up your data before proceeding with an SSD, right? I can't do that with only one hard drive installed in my system could I or would I have to input it in to a different slot?
(don't I need to reinstall windows on the SSD?)

Around the SSD it depends on where you insert it (about windows installation).

With the CPU I will recommend the Intel i5. Make sure that it fits to your motherboard though, before purchase.

Are you planning to make a computer from scratch? If so I could always tell you a computer which when I calculated come up to around £800 which will be able to play 4k relatively easy. Otherwise I would not say the 470 or 480 what so ever. I'd go into changing the motherboard, getting an i5 processor and a gtx 970. you have 8GB DDR3 RAM so there's no need to add more.
My advise is to get this:
Motherboard: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
CPU: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
GPU: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
This is from Amazon so expect high prices, yet it still comes up to £547.17 so you save a total of £52.83 from your £600 budget, which you could use for other things.

There's many more other ways you can keep going such as checking what processors your motherboard is compatible with.
