Court Rules that Police can legally kill for dog for doing anything but sitting silently.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit concluded Monday that police officers are justified in killing citizens' pets. Even if those animals are not attacking or attempting to attack them.

Judges MOORE and CLAY (Circuit judges) and HOOD (District Judge) heard an appeal from two plaintiffs in Battle Creek, Michigan. The browns had filed a lawsuit against the battle creek police department for the death of their beloved death at the hands of sadistic cops.

The precident has now been set. Cops can legally kill your dogs for the sole act of being a dog. If your dog moves it is dead. If it barks, it is dead. If your dog does anything but sit silently, it is dead.

This is pretty messed up.. I had read the article, and it still doesn't seem just to kill someone's pet.

Too bad for the Americans out there, I was freaking out if this law was based in the UK as well. This is shocking no matter where this law is based.

At least I don't live in America.

Disgusted honestly. Dogs bark thats their nature they look at the vicious side and don't see the dogs for what MOST of them really are.

No offense man but that's a terribly biased article, from the way the article is written I think it's terrible what the police officers did, but the overall articles title makes it lose credibility immediately. It's an appellate court not the Supreme Court, they don't set precedents for American law. Every sentence has the writers bias in it, with the use of very negative adjectives to describe every action or the police officers in general. Generally while search warrants are executed the individual is kept out of the way, so I don't understand how the plaintiff could argue what was going on in the basement. If they truly acted in malice then they deserve punishment.
