What 002 said, if it's just the key itself. It'll be cheap but if it's a electronic key fob. It'll be expensive

I lost my key fob for my last jeep. The replacement cost me about 275$ and that's only because my friend works for the dealership so was able to give me a slight discount. Normally it was 350$

My rental says average replacement costs $225. I would call your dealer because all they should need is your VIN and proof of ownership. They won't have to jimmy around with the lock, reducing the chance of damaging your car.

What year is your car? The newer ones are like insanely expensive. My Jeep now has remote start and keyless entree. It's like almost 400$ i believe for a replacement.

It's just a '16 F-150 XLT. Nothing fancy on it, just remote lock and unlock. No smart access or remote start but on all the rentals I get it says average replacement cost is $225.

I think that's why mine is probably so expensive then, right? The keyless entree/remote start.

Now that its resolved Id suggest getting a flat key cut that you can keep in your wallet at all times. Its saved me countless times from losing my keys.

If they key is chipped the car won't start though. It is a life saver if you lock your keys in your car.
