Why on earth do you Americans do the date as 7-23-2016?

What a backwards system

It should clearly be on the 23rd day of the 7th month in 2016.
23-7-2016

Funnily enough I actually agree with this. I'm personally from Poland and have lived in the UK for 10 years now. The only country I know that uses that system (more so continent) is America/U.S.A. All of Europe and Asia does it DD/MM/YYYY sometimes in certain documents you can get YYYY/DD/MM but it's still DD/MM so why on Earth is America using MM/DD ?!?!?! Someone please explain :'(

Why do we have three of the same sounding words but different meanings,

Their
There
They're

But i think the worst is time zones, to be really honest to you, i cant tell you how many times i had to google GMT to EST to PST

The 1st month, the 4th day of that month, and the current year.

vs

4/1/2017

The 4th day of the 1st month, and the current year.

Month then day makes more sense to me.

I've seen some people list it as
23-7-3016
But it makes more sense like this
