When we all get our license for the first time we want to go fast and have fun right? It's totally understandable and everyone does it. But let's look as some factors here.

Driving at 75MPH down the highway doesn't seem that fast right? Well listen to this.
Driving at 75MPH, The distance is takes to slow down is 348 feet and that is consisting of reaction+stopping distance. That is also the same as 23 vehicles. Most MVA's that occur at 75MPH end in fatality or serious injury. The faster you go after 75MPH, the less the odds are in your favor..

Want to see what it's like to crash at about 85MPH?
Skip to about 4:00 into the video. This is the result of a MVA at 85MPH.
and before you ask, yes. They both were killed...

Vehicle fatalities are on a rise again and it's time to put a stop to it.

Do you know what the number one cause behind most accidents? I put it in a spoiler as i want you to guess.

That's right, distracted driving is the number one cause of motor vehicle accidents and fatalities.(drunk driving excluded)

Is texting and driving really that important? Is that Snapchat message really that important? Are you telling me you can't wait until you are home or at least at a traffic light?

It's a new year and we can put a stop to this once in for all. If you see someone speeding or distracted while driving. Call the police and inform them, it can save their life or someone else

Thank you for this topic! It definitely is sad how many people die due to this. I don't think it will end any time soon.

I believe they should take old people off the road. They are terrible drivers!

I've seen this before and I did change my driving ways but only for a little. I always do 75-85 on highway during the day I go 65-70. I think about what could happen I just let it by though.

Agreed, a lot of the time too young kids just getting their license think they know how to drive under certain situations (Hydroplaning, etc.) Truth is they really don't know. Like you said it only takes one time...

True, some of the young drivers tend to test their driving skills right after they get the license.

Thread much appreciated, although I never drive while texting and usually don't speed unless really necessary.

I'm always running late, so I'm always going fast. I know I need to slow down, but never make an effort to. It's sad really.
