my desktop has the z97a motherboard and i have just bought a "TP-Link TG-3468 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Adapter"
my goal (if i can do this anyway?) is to have a power-line adapter go into the motherboard Ethernet port(as i currently have it) and to bridge the connection with the pci/e card to then connect my xbox 360
i know you can on a laptop with the wireless to the wired , would my idea work for my desktop?

the motherboard Ethernet input to a pci/e Ethernet output has worked and works the other way around too. i have also invested in a tp link 4220 power-line/wifi extender as a back up alternative.
i have found that in a large house this particular extender was easy to install and has worked by far better than i thought.
the furthest room i was getting 1mbps download/0.03 upload. with this extender i get around 38/13. my pc plugged into the router gets 60/25.
my pc on the power-line box (another pc i have) gets around 42/20, my xbox coming off it on the Ethernet to pcie pass though or other way around gets 40 download in Netflix.
i would also like to note that i can stream Netflix in hd and still download on my pc (power-line-pc-xbox) with no throttling on ether device.

I'm a little confused but why not get a 5 port switch, run an ethernet cable to the switch and then you can run an ethernet cable from the switch to the PC and XB360.
