I bought the 6600 when it just came out, it was far too overpriced but i never really complained about it.

Like I just said, when I had bought it I paid way too much for it, so by returning it obviously i get that money back and i just need to spend an extra £5 for the 7600k, i have already bought the 7600k, it comes tomorrow.

Had no idea you could do that. Fair enough. Didn't have that information. Basically trading an i5-6600 and £5 for an i5-7600k is a good move. Obviously you can't take advantage of overclocking with that motherboard, so maybe a nice new Z270 motherboard would be a good idea if you have some spare money. Remember you'll need an aftermarket cooler for that 7600k.
I'd maybe get something like this;

CPU Cooler: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (£49.99 @ Overclockers.co.uk)
Motherboard: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (£149.99 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £199.98
or alternatives;

CPU Cooler: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (£48.55 @ Amazon UK)

Total: £204.35

Thanks man, should I be in a hurry to go out and get a z270? I've updated the BIOS My b150a gaming pro so it's kaby lake compatible, got stuff to get before I see if I'll have enough money left for a z270, might be in a month, even a few.

Nah, I'd just make sure to get a Z270 board before end of life. That way you can overclock the 7600k when it comes to it and maybe have it last you an extra year or two before you need an upgrade. If Z270 boards are end of life when youre looking to buy, then it might be harder to find something at a reasonable price but that still gives you a good year or so.
