Hey guys. I am looking for some advice. So I am having a tough time at work about a certain issue. I got my friend a job where I work a few weeks ago (I am in college) and he is already making more per hour than I am. I am currently being paid $9.50/hr while he is making $10/hr. As friends, him and I were discussing it. Some people have told me to talk with my boss about it but I am afraid it might get me fired because I know it is possible to get fired for discussing wages. Any advice?

If it bothers you that much, have a conversation with your boss about it. If not then don't bother.

Just discuss it openly with your manager. **** footing around the issue wont do anything.
I am unsure of laws in your area of the world but I know there are laws which protect employee's from unfair redundancy which also covers openly asking about wages.

Some people get hyped just by a 20 cent raise, every penny literally counts.
If he just started and is getting paid more than you, talk to your boss.
You may be doing something wrong and or not meeting your boss' standards thats why you haven't gotten a raise.

Yeah I'm not sure on your workplace standards but you may want to ask why you haven't gotten the 50 cent raise.
