Atom is very similar to sublime and it is free.

What age are you? Pay for the software people worked hard for to develop. There's a reason development over at Sublime has almost completely ceased.

I was simply saying how you dont "have" to pay for it, obviously the ethical thing to do is to support the creators for their product. Dont have to come at my throat.

But majority of paid software have deals for college students. I have been using PHPSTORM for the last 3 years and never paid a dime. Best IDE IMO. So yes, support the developers. The more support, the better the software!
