ok I'm saving up my money for a jtag and have $85 and am still saving up but have a lot of questions and I know some of these questions have threads but like for example one of my questions is what are ALL the thing you can do to prevent a RROD and I know you can get the tailmoonsmoon fan but is there a better one? And I know about the x-clamp and stuff but maybe there is some I don't know so please just answer all questions and don't flame and BIG thanks for whoever take the time to answer all my questions =)
1.Can you list all the ways to prevent a RROD and if you can post links on where to buy/tutorials on how to do it.
2.Can someone list all the different kinds of jtags Xenon,Zepher,Falcon,Jasper.....etc. and each ones price range of just the xbox without any wires or a HDD
3.To my understanding a KV is only a temporary fix to get unbanned and only lasts so long is this true and if so are there any permnament fixes for banned xboxes that lets say if you don't mod or get caught modding then you wont get banned as if I had a unbanned not jtagged xbox assuming the new freeboot will be released?
4.I have a MW2 limited edition xbox elite and was thinking about selling it my wii and my DS lite to get enough money for a jasper because its supposed to be the best at not getting a RROD should I?
5.What would cost more? 1.Getting a Jasper jtag or 2.Just getting a cheap Xenon and doing all the mods like getting a tailsmoon fan,x-clamp fix,thermal paste and any other mod that would help prevent a RROD?I was also thinking of getting a Falcon because I heard they are a reasonable price usually and don't RROD as much as a Xenon or Zepher but don't cost as much as a Jasper.would that be a good choice?

If your a beginner get a xenox..they are cheap but wont last very long.If you do want something to last a very long time get a Jasper.It is what I have and all I ever even touch anymore

1. DO NOT and i repeat DO NOT sell your regular xbox for a jtag, you will hate yourself for it. The best jtag you can get for your moneys worth is a falcon. I would never get a xenon or a jasper because of the xenon's failure rate and the jasper's price.
2. DO NOT get a jtag just for hosting lobbies because Jester has already said no new freeBOOT will be released.

If your looking for only console.. you need to make sure you have a hdd just for you jtag aand one for your normal xbox. also you need to make sure you power brick is compadable with it...

well i guess I am a beginner but its not like im going to buy another jtag I want to buy 1 jtag that will last long and wont have problems but that is under $200 hopefully mabe I can sell my wii and wii games for some extra money to get a better jtag I dont know? So yeah.....

1. Every motherboard revision will Red Ring at one point in time. I have repaired literally 750+ of these consoles ranging from xenon-jasper and majority of the BGA Reflows using a 968 is GPU related.
The only TRUE thing to keep it strong for the long run is to replace the solder balls with LEADED Solder, which is called a Reball. However, I have had good success on Reflows w no clean flux that last months-year.
You can only Reflow about 3 times before you need to replace the solder balls.
So to answer one, get a Reball or Reflow or BUY it from someone who does this to ALL their consoles/jtags they sell. I do this personally to my units..
12v fan also helps along w new thermal paste on the chip dies.
2. Tags will run you anywhere from 150-300..Depends on who you buy from and what time of year it is-Prices range..
3. Kv is something EVERY console has. It's what allows you to get online. Once you get banned, the kv is no good and you cannot connect. With JTAGS you can buy a kv(shared/unshared) to reflash to your nand/freeboot image to allow you to connect once again using another consoles kv(unbanned console).
With Jtags once you connect, you will be banned anywhere from 2-4 hrs.
4. Do what you want to do with your stuff. It will help to go towards w/e you wish to buy..
5. Jaspers do not Red Ring as much as the others but they all Red Ring, period..Falcons and Jaspers are okay but only buy a Jtag w HDMI if it has the smc/aud_clamp patch. If not, you will get random E79's and Sync issues.

I would have to agree, And lobbies wont have that much profit if everyone has a JTAG.

oh so I need a sperate HDD? wow I didnt know that and yeah thanks for bringing up that my power cable has to be comaptible with it I didnt really think about that even though I knew they had different ones.thanks =) also does anyone know or can anyone find out what kind of jtaged xbox the mw2 limited edition xbix elites power cord is compatible wtib I know ypu can find out which one you have by looking at it but im kinda lazy and i dont know which ones the jtaged xboes use lol thanks also if you want to play with me or talk or anything my gt is kriskilla13 thanks =D

thanks this helped havent heard about the smc/aud clamp patch beieng required for hdmi consoles and you seem like you know what your talking about how much could you sell me one that will work for a while with the Leaded soilder,thermal pasted,x-clamp fix, and anything else that will make it last a long time? Im only 15 though and as I said I have $85 which im of course not expecting to get a xbox for that cheap but im getting about $2 a day so yeah im going to try to get the money but I dont think I can spend $350 or something well maybe but idk i will see how much I can sell my wii and Ds lite for I also have like 15+ wii games but I dont know how much I could get its with 4.2 menu and homebrewed but idk lol maybe if you helped me sepl it I could use it to buy one of ypur jtaged xboxes LOL =D thanks
