15$ VPS and openVPN with mitigation reliability

Have full port control ETC, much better than paying for a VPN that is mainly controlled by the provider

Make sure to get a vpn based out of the u.s. Any vpn in the us has to submit all information to the government if requested and nsa has back doors in alot of these networks based out of the u.s.

Your best best for privacy would be to use tor and to make sure you use the https versions of websites.

Tor isn't as secure as people think.

Tor nodes still make man in the middle attacks possible.

Especially if you are doing anything in the "grey area" it is easy to simply view who is accessing tor at any given time and narrow it down from there.

However, parring Tor with the Tails operating system and paring that with your own OpenVPN adds for a verg high level of privacy.

For an extra level of privacy use Signal for group chats and such. Full end to end encryption for calling and instant messaging.
