Hey guys! I currently have the iPhone 7 plus iv'e been mostly an Apple user I haven't switched to Android ever but I think I may want to now, I have been really doing my research on the Google PixelXL. I think it is a very nice looking phone I even went to my local BestBuy and tried the phone out for myself It seems like it would work good for me. My question here is can I get some opinions on which is the better phone? Would it be a downgrade for me to get the Google Pixel XL? Just give me your honest opinions and suggestions and if anyone has the Google Pixel now can you tell me how it is and how you like it? Thanks to everyone who takes the time to answer!

The pixel is still more of a leading flagship phone.
If you're a seasoned apple pro, the maybe not. If you feel you could adjust the new side, go for it.
Unlike apple. android has several different options you can do to virtually any phone, along with just the basics of rooting as well.
The phone is a bit lower spec than the 7, but it has more room for adjusting than certainly any iOS product would.
You will learn a new interface, it's a completely different phone from the 7, in terms of virtually anything.
I had hands on with the original pixel. Was worth the week, but i am a android fanboy, so that is my taste.
But it is all up to you, while you are losing a little bit of specs in the minor performance run, you're gaining better battery, a easier to use device, a device with nearly 20x easily the amount of options and last but not least, quality, most anything on a android flagship or form factor in general is built to last. Apple is catching up there.
But coming from me, yes it is well worth the trade if you're looking in to it.

Have a look at the OnePlus 3T. If you've used iOS for a while then it may take a while getting used to the android OS

Lower spec? No, the iPhone 7/7 Plus are lower spec than the Pixel.

The specs are little just a one up 3/4 cases, it isn't stomping the iPhone 7 by any means.
by no means does the pixel match in rear camera, but in front it is literally better by 1 mp.
The gpu is slightly better depending on the scenario. So no the pixel doesn't outmatch the iPhone 7. The price difference is terrible, and that is 40% of a iphones value, their locked OS. I already said the pixel is better in its own ways. No need to point out minor altercations between a specsheet.

There are a number of significant differences between the two, for example the iPhone 7 Plus has a 1080p display whereas the Pixel XL has a 2K screen, meaning it's a lot more vibrant and higher in contrast. Pixel display is AMOLED whereas the iPhone's display is LCD.
The Pixel XL has 4GB of RAM compared to the 7 Plus which has 3GB. Not a huge difference in regards to what the RAM will be used on, but the difference is there.
The larger the number of megapixels doesn't always mean the camera is of a higher quality, but the cameras aren't too different in quality. The 7 Plus tends to take better shots in low lighting and the imges are generally better balanced than the Pixel's though.
The battery is a fair amount better on the Pixel at 3450mAH if I remember rightly and the iPhone's battery is a 2900mAH battery. Overall, the battery performance seems to be better on the Pixel but then again it really does depend on what you're going to be doing on the phone.
You are right, there isn't a huge difference between the two devices but overall the specs are slightly higher on the Pixel.

I have my Pixel XL since launch and it's the best android phone I've ever used. Everything is quick, snappy, and photos to take are a joy. Plus with the Pixel XL you get unlimited cloud storage by using Google Photos and I've had no problems using both.
