Savitar wroteeh wrote Olive Garden and sit down type of restaurants I cant tell a difference. But fast food yes, there is definitely a difference. The quality of fast food has gone down quite a bit in the fast 20-30 years. I think its has to do with fast food being in higher demand. It's public school food.. pretty sure it's always been gross.
If you want to see a difference in food quality, look at public school food in the US.. wow has that tanked HARD.
Seriously though, when my brother went to my HS, the food was way better and now they have students cooking the food for a class or some shit and it's disgusting.
You just proved my point right after saying my point was incorrect lol.
Just because the schooling is "free" doesnt mean the students should be fed prison food, when I was in school I would actually get sick from eating the school lunch. I ate school lunch MAYBE 5-6 times the entire 4 years of high school.

Well, everyone restaurant has a 'bad food' day every once in awhile. I wouldn't say they are losing their quality but I have been to a few places which used to be bad then started to lose their good food quality. It's normally down to the chef more than the restaurant itself (obviously) You just have to hope a good chef, who cares and enjoys what they're doing is in

Dr_Arkansas wrote Straight up...
Who else can't stand the fact that no matter where you go now a days, the Restaurant Business is becoming more about profit and less about Good Quality Food?
I'm talking Franchises like Olive Garden that used to make some great food but now its like... wow this obviously came from a plastic bag.
Red Lobster, Applebees, TGI Fridays, Heck even something as cheap as iHop its just... Wow. Where did decent food go?
Thanks for any input.

Yes I am a Chef.
I also went to olive garden like 2 days ago. The salad was garbage no dressing on it, they gave us a dry salad with visibly aged lettuce the bread was the only decent thing on the table and we had to beg like 3 times to get a refill. I feel like quality in service and food is on the decline to save money. I wish some places cared for their customers but you cannot get that at a mainstream restaurant. My best meals are usually at local small businesses not always but my luck is good on that end.

Depends on the type of restaurant you go to, and what kinds of employee's those businesses have. You can have a big chain restaurant that is known for great food, but if the staff sucks then its not gonna be good, but for the most part the food @ places is good, people do so to stay in business

The reason the food is starting to seem lower quality each year is becuase it is. These corporations that own these restaurants only care about one thing and its money. They honestly dont give a shit about your health.
When going out to eat somewhere, try to find a local place that isnt a chain. They tend to be far higher quality and by eating there, you are supporting a local business.

Seems like the universal stigma, Quantity over Quality
