I recently built a gaming PC. By this I mean it'll mainly be used for Gaming and some school work. Other than that just some random things. I was wondering what the best Windows is (Windows 10, etc.) Or if its like preference, etc. Price isn't a problem.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just today, I installed Antergos. From what I understand, it is arch Linux but preconfigured.
I have used all most every version of Windows, and Windows 10 is by far the best one. That is what I switched from, and I still use it because most of my programs run on Windows, and I do not know how to get them to work on Linux (I am looking into WIne).
I have also used Linux in the past, so I have the basics down. And just from today, I would say that Antergos is much better than windows. The main reason that I switched, was security and privacy. Antergos is not the most secure OS, but it is better than Windows. Linux is also faster than Windows.
I also switched from Chrome to Firefox. I would also say that Firefox is much better than Chrome, and I have only been using it for a few hours( I have had a little experience with it in the past, but nothing to crazy).
Linux also has LibreOffice, which is comparable to Microsoft Office. But it is free.
If I had never touched a computer before, and I had to choose between Windows and Antergos( or really any Linux OS), I would choose Antergos. I would highly recommend it, and when you are installing Antergos, you can select your environment, I chose to use KDE.
But in your case, If your going to be playing a lot of games, then I would go with Windows. I have steam installed on Antergos, but I have not played any games, or even download them.
If you are just going to be using the essentials ( Internet, document editing, etc), then you should give Antergos a try.
It is free, but you can donate if you want.
No matter what you choose to use in the end, you should try out Antergos, and then if you do not like it, you can go for windows or something else. You have nothing to lose, it is free, or as free as can be.

Windows 10. There is going to be a "game mode" implemented into the OS too.

I'll be honest, I've kept life simple and used Windows based OS Platforms because it's easy to configure and a great user interface.
I'm currently running Windows 10 Pro which compared to Windows 8.1 Pro is a massive improvement. It's compressed and doesn't fill up much space, so in terms of space it's perfect.
I'm running my OS on a SSD which boots up within 5 seconds or so, baring in mind that skips boot up progress.
I'd totally recommend W10 by far but I'm very open to Linux kernels, it would be nice to actually understand the complexity of the UI.

Windows 7 is by first the best OS, imo.

Running windows 10 is the best way to go at this point in time. Games are developed with the idea that they will be ran on the windows operating system.

This reminds me so much of Deepin, but then again they are both user friendly and linux based. Depending on your workload linux may or may not like you.
Antergos isn't the best in a long term, I know a few people who run it for day to day, and after a bit it tends to wear out and crash a good bit and if i am remembering right it was formerly Cinnarch(arch).
Meaning that the user would need just a little more than basic linux knowledge to operate, arch is a bitch at first. Deepin and Antergos are two of the nicer looking distros, and either or should be given a try if you're etching towards linux. If you're sticking in windows get windows 10. Some nice features should be implemented not to long from now.
OP: Don't plan to game if you tempt it you will see a significant performance drop
