If every country were to put out it's best car, what would the U.S put out? In terms of performance (stock, to keep things simple)

I was thinking about it the other the day and just sorta thought how the rest of the world has amazing super cars that double as incredibly luxurious. What does the U.S have? Viper ACR? MAYBE the Ford GT?
I can't think of an American car that can really hang with the top dogs of performance (Porsche, McLaren, Buggati). Kinda makes me sad lol.
I'd be glad to get some other perspectives on this, throw in your 2 cents

probably the ford GT, but your comparing it to super expensive car brands. it's not a fair comparison. The ford GT can certainly "hang" with the likes of porsche, ferrari (at least the lower models) etc, but it's from a company that produces every sort of car. Where as the supercar brands only make super cars.

You do have the hennessey venom but even that is built onto a lotus base.

Somewhat, Japanese cars occupy most of the space in American driveways

Ford are stepping their game up to be honest, and their engines are even better. They have some solid technology in their engines that are producing higher power with smaller engine sizes.

As for the other murican manufacturers, well idk lol.

Ford has subordinate companies in Europe though, mainly the UK so I don't know if that counts as a "true" American manufacturer despite them owning the gaff.

That is true. I suppose we would need a company that would specialize in high performance vehicles like the others but that's very unlikely to happen.
Who knows though, I believe Tesla is working on an actual sports car sometime after the launch of the Model 3. If their family sedan can do 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, imagine what they can do when they actually create a dedicated performance vehicle.

Best car for what? GM made good military vehicles (Hummer and Suburban / Escalade), Ford is testing the boundaries with making aluminum vehicles and making a hybrid muscle car, and Chrysler and Fiat are joined companies based out of Michigan, Fiat owns Ferrari and Maserati so it all depends on where you want to draw the line.

fiat and chrysler (FCA) is an Italian-controlled British multinational corporation with headquarters in london.
yes I did pull that from wikia because I somehow didn't hear of the merger. But yes I agree. Each regional car market is better at one thing compared to another it's just how you compare them.

Imports seem to be cheaper than any car made by local manufacturers.
