I can feel my heartbeat in my left eye. It almost feels like twitching and it started yesterday. Anyone know what this is?

Do you suffer from anxiety, or ever had problems with it? Anxiety is tricky. It can cause you medical problems of all sorts. Stress is in the same boat in this aspect.

Otherwise, I'd assume it's muscles or nerves in your eyes contracting or "twitching" from eye strain. Do you wear glasses or contacts? If so it may be time to get your eyes checked again and get a new perscription.

If you are having vision problems in the same eye as well I'd suggest going to your eye doctor if it stays persistant.

I had something similar, only in both eyes. My eyes would jitter side to side for seconds at a time, eventually I developed vision problems, was given a perscription for eye glasses and it's all since ceased.

It's probably nothing to get worked up or scared over. Just rest your eyes, and if it stays persistant or gets worse, visit your eye doctor.

I just had my eyes checked about 1-2 months ago. I do have anxiety and take meds like lexapro for my depression (even though they arent the same thing, just adding in info that may help) i have been stressing lately. I wear glasses also

I am in no way a doctor. I just want to make that clear.

An eye exam is a lot more important than most people think, if there was any sort of serious issue with your eyes, I'm almost certiant your doctor would have seen it.

I'd still really suggest relaxing your eyes, espcially if you've been gaming or anything where you've been straining your eyes for hours at a time, sometimes you'll forget to blink and not even know it. I don't think dry eyes would cause this type of issue, although who knows.

If it's not constant, it could be related to your recent stress. I'd just try to relax and do your best stop thinking about the eye issue. See if it eases off.

I'd also just like to throw this out here since you described it as being able to "feel your heartbeat". This type of thing has probably got absolutely nothing to do with your heart, so don't worry.

EDIT: I'm on moblie, so I apologize for any typos.

Go to your local doctor & ask what he/or she thinks could be causing it to twitch, better safe then sorry.

Bro I once felt like a heartbeat in my ear and it was pretty sore. Then it stopped when I was like focusing in on it.
