It's an air force base. Everyone hypes it up because of the money they can gain off of it. Restaurants, hotels, books, etc. People make videos of the border and how protected it is but then again you can't just waltz into any government protected base.

The reason Area 51 is so secretive is simply because they build new/experimental aircraft. Would be pointless letting your enemies see your inventions etc. Plus if they were doing experiments on people they wouldn't do it there. Would be somewhere only a few people know about.

As much as I want it to be aliens and I do believe they are out there. That, Area 51 doesn't contain anything to do with extraterrestrial. It's probably the same as a military base just.. something more powerful or valuable there.
