yea insurance can be an issue which is silly because ive seen used cars with more damage than some salvages before repairs

Just because things have been fixed doesn't mean they have been fixed right, I found that out the hard way. Remember they want a quick turn around for a bigger buck.

at what point did it go down hill for you? if you were looming for a cheap sunday driver would you get another?

Frame Damage, Flood Damage are two things i'd neer f*ck with...

It went down hill when I tried to get the truck aligned lol. I bought the truck and it pulled to the side a little so I got it aligned and the camber would always max out before the caster was even close. My truck was hit on the drivers side door / fender area, it looked like frame damage to me but they said it wasn't (trust me, when the frame is bent, it's damaged). Everything else was "fixed", but with super cheap parts. I bought the truck for $5k, and in 3 years I spent ANOTHER 5k just in repairs. It wasn't anything special, just a 1997 F-150.

The only way I'd get a rebuilt title car is if it was going to be a dedicated off road vehicle where things will break. If there is paperwork of all the repairs done at a dealership (Ford dealership for Ford cars, etc.) then I'd consider it.

they can be a steal of a deal sometimes. A couple people i know have gotten salvaged STIs for like 6 grand from the auctions, put about $2000 into it and they run great. You just have to know what exactly happened to it and where/who fixed it. It's good if you plan on keeping the car for a long time since you can buy them below market value, but will get a low amount if you go to resell it

Depends on the dealer etc I've bought 2 flood damaged vehicles but they were already rebuilt the first was a 08' cobalt drove it for about 50k miles then I totaled it. Went back to the same dealer got a 12' caliber everything was great for about a week then the transmission gave out called up the dealer told them what happened and they replaced the transmission free of charge. They had forgotten to drain the transmission fluid. Now I've put nearly 60k miles on it and it's still going strong

I wouldn't buy a salvaged title unless you knew how to do a lot of work on the cars yourself. In think I would rather get a flood damaged one rather than a frame damaged one.
