ok so i want to upgrade my i3 to an i5 2400.

so will a Corsair 430w PSU 80+ certified handle GTX 950, 8GB RAM , I5 2400?

It could easily power two of those systems at the same time, so yes.

You might be good but if I were you, I'd put your exact parts on PCPartPicker and make sure it's all compatible.
