So me and my girlfriend, well now ex were dating for 2 1/2 years. Now we broke up and I'm having a pretty tough time handling it. Any advice from anyone who's been in the situation before? It feels pretty shitty.

Do things to keep you occupied, to keep your mind off her.
Go hang with friends, watch movies, maybe even start going on a couple dates.
Hang in there my dude.

Grab a red bull and some mini-muffins and sit back because I'm about to learn you a thing or two about breakups.

So, back in my high school years, freshmen year, I met this beautiful woman named Dakota Brown, she was the best thing ever at the time, and the day after we met, she asked me for my phone number, saying it was for her friend, when in reality, it was her way of getting my number and having an excuse for it. So fast forward 3 weeks, I ask her to be mine, and she said one single word that I'll never not be able to hear in my head in her voice, "Definitely."

First year was fantastic and I experienced many firsts, like my first kiss, making out for the first time, and so on, but then I had to spend 10th grade at another school, which wasn't too far, but for half of that school year, I lived far from her, and the other half, I lived right up right road from her but still went to that separate school. That year was great too, but then... 11th grade came...

First day of the new school year, she was all over me flaunting me to everyone, and I did the same back, but then, she started saying she didn't like public displays of affection, but it never bothered her before so it was a hot topic for us that always caused arguing, that entire year was back and forth me saying how it hurt me and her slowly falling away. Less kissing, less hand holding, it was a fight with her to just get a hug, less physical affection, less everything. What made her the maddest, which felt good actually, was me losing it and yelling something along the lines of "You know how hard it is not to notice other women?! Very, especially when my own girlfriend doesn't seem to notice me! We don't hug, we don't hold hands, we don't even kiss, last time you said you love me was 4 months ago, yet you want me to stick by your side and pretend I'm okay?! Well I'm not, and unless you start treating me like a boyfriend, I'm not going to act like a boyfriend!" And after an outburst like that, I felt fantastic cuz it was so much built up, and it felt good to let it all out. She was mad, soooo worth it. Fast forward to senior year, the love and affection picked up, she started saying she loved me again, and all the joys of a good relationship returned, for like 4 months, and then just after the end of senior year, there was another fight, and we ended it for good.

9 months later, I find out she's pregnant, and soon to be married, and it hit me pretty hard even though this was 9 months after the breakup, but I did find that news a bit ironic because she always liked talking about her college plans, and her career plans, but turns out she used me through high school using her religion as a reason to avoid sex until marriage, using me to avoid doing something stupid, then she gets pregnant, plans to marry him, and they moved to Texas, and now he's working his bum off to support his wife, and that kid, in this economy, with no real education since high school so much for college and career plans, she's a stay-at-home mom now.

To put it bluntly, I know how you feel, and I know the things that are going through your mind, but school, and work, friends, flirting, lots can keep your mind off it, and ultimately, time is the best healer.

I'm going to bed here soon, but feel free to PM me and I will respond, maybe not instantly, could be hours after, but I will respond, good luck friend

I know it feels shitty at the moment bro, but as time goes on, you start to feel better. The only real healer for these situations is time.

In the mean time, just keep yourself and your mind busy! Socialise and talk to other people, just try your best not to think about it.

Lol mate I split up recently with my ex partner who i have two kids with and was with her for 5 years, I'm still not completely over her now and it's been a couple months! My only advise would be to keep busy and don't think about it, Go out with friends and have fun and eventually you'll learn to cope with it better.
